Position: Senior Scientist – Analytical Chemistry

Hours: 37.5 hours a week
The PolyTherics group provides technology solutions to enable the development of better biopharmaceuticals and offers a portfolio of proprietary and complementary technologies and services to address key needs in biopharmaceutical development. These include site specific conjugation technologies to create more homogeneous and stable antibody drug conjugates and to optimise the pharmacokinetics of biopharmaceuticals, immunogenicity assessment, antibody and protein engineering, and cell line development.
In this role you will be part of the team providing the analytical support to the company’s activities. The main duties include developing new analytical methods to characterise small molecules, proteins and protein conjugates within project timelines; providing input for project planning and objectives and recording experiments and results in an electronic laboratory notebook.
Other responsibilities will include preparing/updating protocols and SOPS; presenting results and conclusions of experimental work to internal and external clients; keeping abreast with background literature and sharing key data and ensuring equipment is well maintained.
The ideal candidate needs to be trained to PhD level or a graduate with at least 3-5 years relevant experience, ideally in an industrial setting. An excellent knowledge of protein characterisation and analytical techniques is essential, including mass spectrometry and protein chromatography (RP-HPLC, LC-MS etc). Experience with Chromeleon and/or MassLynx is desirable. Candidates need to have excellent people, communication and organisational skills, with good standard of written and spoken English. They will need to be familiar with the use of Word, PowerPoint, Excel and ChemDraw.
